Beachball Face Off
Turn your ordinary beachball into a party centerpiece with personality.

Sand Pail Clown
You’ll need:

  • 16-in. beachball
  • cone party hat
  • two leis
  • 7-in. sand pail
  • hanging goo-goo eyes
  • 3 - 4 ft. of monofilament line
  • scissors
  • double-stick tape

Directions:

  1. Inflate your beachball and close the plug. Do not push the plug into the ball, leave it standing up.
  2. Cut 3 - 4 ft. of monofilament line and tie the middle of the line to the base of the beachball’s plug.
  3. Take both ends of the monofilament and slide them through the bottom of the cone hat. Once the line is through the cone hat, tie a knot at the top of the line. This will create a large loop for hanging.
  4. Be sure the handle of the sand pail is facing you before you begin the next step.
  5. Cut eight 2-in. pieces of double-stick tape. Line the inside rim of the sand pail with the tape. Be sure that the ends of the tape are sticking out and lying over the rim of the pail. (Cool glue can be used if you don't have double stick tape.)
  6. Nestle the beachball on the rim of the sand pail and secure it with the tape.
  7. Double-stick tape the space eyes glasses to the face of the beachball.
  8. Fold both leis in a twist (to make them smaller) and slide them up the sand pail until they stop moving.

Parrot Head
You’ll need:

  • 16-in. beachball
  • beach comber hat
  • 12-in. feathered parrot
  • flower lei
  • monofilament line
  • glue gun, scissors

Directions:

  1. Inflate your beach ball and close the plug. Do not push the plug into the ball, leave it standing up.
  2. Cut 3 - 4 ft. of monofilament line and tie the middle of the line to the base of the beachball’s plug.
  3. Position the parrot on the top, left-hand side of the hat. Poke the wires (on the parrot’s feet) through the weave in the hat and twist them together. This will secure the parrot to the hat.
  4. Thread both ends of the monofilament line through top center portion of the beachcomber hat and nestle the hat down on the beachball.
  5. Tie a knot at the top of your monofilament line for hanging.

Señor Fiesta
You’ll need:

  • 16-in. beachball
  • multi-colored sombrero
  • handlebar mustache (create one with a piece of black felt or black mylar)
  • monofilament line
  • needle

Directions:

  1. Inflate your beachball and close the plug. Do not push the plug into the ball, leave it standing up.
  2. Cut 3 - 4 ft. of monofilament line and tie the middle of the line to the base of the beachball’s plug.
  3. Thread both loose ends of the monofilament line through the needle. Position the sombrero on the beachball to determine where to pass the needle and line through it. Poke it through the top of the sombrero. Remove the needle and nestle the hat down on the beachball. Tie a knot at the top of your monofilament line for hanging.
  4. Cool glue the handlebar mustache to the front of the beachball.

Caribbean Pirate

  • 16-in. beachball
  • pirate eye patches
  • felt pirate hat (child size)
  • monofilament line
  • needle
  • scissors

Directions:

Position the hat on the beachball to determine where to pass the needle and line through it.
  4. Poke it through the top of the pirate hat. Remove the needle and nestle the hat down on the beach ball. Tie a knot at the top of your monofilament line to hang your display.
  5. Cool glue the pirate eye patch to the front of the beachball.
