Here are a few games and activities to keep the party moving and give
the guests and the bride-to-be some laughs.
Bride to Be Game
Call the groom and ask some personal questions, such as "What's
your favorite dessert?" "Where did you go on your first date?"
"What's your worst habit?" and "What do you sleep in?"
At game time, let the guests take turns reading the questions to the bride
and have her answer. If she gets the answer right, the guest asking the
question wins a prize!
Dress the Bride
Gather the guests in a circle around the bride. Hand them each several
sheets of colorful crepe or tissue paper, along with cellophane tape and
scissors. The first player must use the supplies to begin a wedding dress-using
the bride as the mannequin! The player can use the paper any way she likes,
as long as it contributes toward the bride's "wedding dress."
When she's finished, the next person adds her paper to the dress, and
so on, until everyone has contributed to the dress. Don't forget to make
a veil and a train! Stick the bows from her gifts on a paper plate to
make a hat. Then have the bride model her ensemble for a good laugh. Take
pictures of her to show to the groom.
The Bride's Bottomless Handbag
Have the group sit in a circle. Ask the bride to hold her purse in her
lap. Guests take turns guessing what's inside the bride's purse. If they
guess right, the bride must pull the item from the purse, then the player
wins a prize. Continue going around the circle until everyone has had
a turn guessing what's in the purse.
The Honeymoon Night
As the bride-to-be opens each of her gifts, quietly write down everything
she says that could be take as a sexy comment on her wedding night, such
as, "Wow, this is a big one!" "I've never seen one of these
before!" and "I can't wait to try that!" After the gifts
are all opened, announce to the group that the comments the bride made
while opening her presents will be the same comments she'll make on her
wedding night. Then read the comments for lots of laughs!
