Card Party

You'll hit the jackpot when you host a card party that is fit for a King,
Queen or a pair of Jacks! Use card suits as a creative theme for any occasion
or set the mood for your next bridge club or poker night. Its all in fun
and your guests will think you're a "big deal"!
Set the theme in motion when you send an invitation to your "house
of cards". Write the party details on oversized playing cards, score
pads or funny money.
Decorate the room with playing cards fanned out or scattered around the
tables. Hang card suit helium balloons or use solid colored balloons in
red, black, white and green. Make a house of cards as a centerpiece. Decorate
with red, white and black streamers then continue the color theme in the
tableware and cutlery. Cut out shapes of hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades
and hang them on the walls or let them dangle from the ceiling. Cover tables
with green felt or green cloth or plastic table covers then sprinkled them
with glitter, gold coins and poker chips. Use empty card packs as napkin
holders.
When the guests arrive, greet them at the door wearing king and queen crowns.
Use playing cards, over sized playing cards, poker chips or score pads as
place cards or nametags. Hand out green gambler visors, striped vests or
garter armbands to each guest.
Deal out a menu that will be aces high. Serve "club" sandwiches
and "chips", use card suit theme cookie cutters (such as a heart
or diamond) to cut shapes for mini-sandwiches or cookies. Use a mini cookie
cutter to cut shapes with peppers or cheese for your salad, crackers or
dips. Make "domino" brownies - cut them into rectangles and press
upside-down white chocolate chips into the top to resemble a domino.
If you don't want gambling involved, let your guests wager with poker chips
or "funny money" and have a chance to win prizes based on their
winnings.
When the party is over, say good night with a goody bag filled with a deck
of cards, fake money, scratch tickets and a lucky rabbit's foot.
