Why
doesn’t your site work with my browser?
Check
your browser. You may not have its latest version. If you're
not sure which version of the browser you're using, select
"About Navigator", "About Communicator"
or "About Internet Explorer" from the Help Menu
of your browser. This will display the version number of the
browser. (Macintosh users: Look under the Apple Menu.)
If you're
using Netscape version 4.05 or earlier or Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.01 for Macintosh or earlier, you need to upgrade
your browser.
Where
can I go to update my browser?
To upgrade your Netscape browser to the latest version visit:
home.netscape.com/download
and select the version appropriate for your operating system.
For the
latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows,
visit:
www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/default.asp.
Apple
Macintosh users visit:
www.microsoft.com/mac/download/en/default.asp.

Why
do you use cookies?
Our site uses cookies (a feature of your Web browser) to keep
the items you select attached to your order, ensuring that
your order is shipped to you and not someone else. The cookies
assign a unique identification to your computer. If you have
registered with iParty.com, these cookie files also store
your personal information, such as name and address, so that
you don’t have to re-enter information each time you
make a purchase. iParty.com safely stores this data behind
firewalls using state-of-the-art technology.
If the
items in your shopping cart keep disappearing, check your
browser settings. Your browser may be configured not to accept
cookies. You can change your browser option to accept cookies
by going to "Preferences" (Netscape) or "Internet
Options" (Internet Explorer).
What
information does iParty.com get from my cookies?
iParty.com is able to access only the cookies that it sets
on your computer and we are only able to determine the type
of computer operating system and browser that you and other
visitors are using. We collect this information in the aggregate
in order to provide services better tailored to our users
needs. We do not link the information collected through cookies
to personally identifiable information submitted by users
when participating in our activities.
What
is a certificate and how does it affect me?
A certificate is an electronic message used for security purposes.
It is used to verify the identity of the sender whenever encrypted
information is transmitted.
The certificates
on versions of Netscape Navigator and Netscape Communicator
versions 4.05 or earlier (released in August 1998) expired
on December 31, 1999. There is no impact on Microsoft browsers,
with the exception of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 for
Apple Macintosh.
This is
not a Y2K issue or a problem specific to iParty.com. You will
encounter this whenever you connect to a secure site that
uses digital certificates and encrypted (SSL) technology.
If you
have not upgraded your browser, you will see a dialog box
indicating that the certificate has expired. You will be prompted
to check your computer's clock and you will be given the option
to continue.
If you
continue without any further action, SSL (the protocol that
is used to encrypt all the information, such as your personal
data, etc.) will still be active for the session and all information
between the browser and the Web site server (www.iParty.com)
will still be encrypted.
However, to ensure the highest level of security, we strongly
recommend that you upgrade your browser to the latest version
of Netscape or Internet Explorer for Mac. This will automatically
update your certificate.
